By Car

Driving:  Two main options.

Option 1: Take the M4 or M5 to Bristol, then join the M5 south.  At the bottom of the M5 (Exeter) take the A30 towards Penzance turning off at the St Erth roundabout and follow the signs to St Ives, passing through Lelant, then Carbis Bay and on to St Ives.

Option 2: Alternatively from the south east take the M3 south to pick up the A303 heading west and pick up the bottom of the M5 at Exeter then as above.

Welcome To Cornwall

By Train

GWR from Paddington almost every hour, calling at e.g. Reading, Exeter on its way into Cornwall.  Book early to get best prices and secure a seat in standard/ first or sleeper train (they do get very busy on Friday/ Weekends).  Great views around Exeter, Plymouth and across country or by the sea in several places.  A leisurely, stress-free way to get here, just will take you 5-6 hours.

St Erth is the nearest mainline station to St Ives or Carbis Bay.  There is then a great little local train from St Erth, which stops at Carbis Bay on its way into St Ives, travelling next to the sea and coastline.  Alternatively call or pre-book Ace Cars on 01736 797799.  Transfer is 10 minutes by train or taxi.

Getting Around Locally

By Taxi:
We recommend our local firm, Ace Cars, for airport pick up and any local travel too.

Tel: 01736 797799.

By Bus:
There is a fantastic bus service operating throughout Cornwall.

The main St Ives Bus terminal called the Malakof is just 5 mins walk from No4 St Ives. It is a great route hub and some cracking day trips can be planned from St Ives.

There is a town bus service available as well. Leaving from Royal Square in the centre of town or Porthmeor beach, both will drop you right at the door of No 4 St Ives if you ask the driver nicely.

Number 2 – Leaves Royal Square (by the cinema) every 10mins until 7pm.

Number 10 – Leaves Porthmeor Beach (just up from the Tate Modern beach side ) at 10 + 40 mins past the hour until 7:10pm
